The D-13 Widowmaker is similar to the old D-7 design, but that is where the similarities end. This ship has been outfitted with the most up-to-date Shielding and Armour making it capable of withstanding bombardment from any of our known enemies. This ship has the latest cloaking devise with the ability to wage war while fully cloaked, a great advancement from the old cloaking system that required de cloaking before the firing of weapons. Not that a Klingon would ever take such a cowards way out in battle. The communication system of this bird in unmatched anywhere in the Galaxy. In battle one of the biggest advantages is the ability to have complete contact with our allies. The Widowmaker has full trans-warp capabilities as well as impulse power, the maneuverability of the ship is better than anything the Federation has in it's fleet. Now lets talk about firepower. This ship has the ability to lay waste to half a planet in a matter of minutes, while fending off any guard ships in the area. On board is a squad of 10 Ku'rist single pilot light fighters for scouting an area of space or more importantly quick strike abilities. The largest complement of photon torpedo's on any ship in the fleet, go along with the highly modified disrupters, The boom area has been reinforced to withstand ramming of other ships if necessary, and through the tremendous sacrifice of our Klingon brothers and sisters we have the Genesis devise. We will not be out gunned. One of the most important features of this tremendous craft is its strength, giving it the ability to withstand time travel over and over again.
